What are the operating conditions for this waste system?
They are identical to the operating conditions for the PP and HDPE
waste systems: atmospheric pressure, temperature 95°C (continuous).
What is the chemical resistance of the Silere waste system?
The material used (PP + mineral filler) has the same chemical resistance
as the products made of PP.
Is there dimensional compatibility among Silere and the PP, PP
Plus and HDPE pipes?
Yes! The 90, 110 and 160 diameters are perfectly compatible for
the PP; whereas the 90 and 110 diameters are compatible for PP
Plus and HDPE. The PP-HDPE coupling sockets are available for
the other dimensions.
Is it possible to connect Silere with pipes made of cast iron,
steel, PVC, etc.?
Yes! By using the special connection pieces: Valsir compression
connection (art. 2710) and Valsir fix connection couplings (art.
2720). Use the Valsir piece (art. 2310) for PVC pipes.
Does Silere burn?
Yes! Silere burns very slowly, if you consider that according
to the DIN 4102 standards, the product is classified in class
B2. Use of the Valsir fire stop coupling (art. 270) classified
under REI 180, namely is fire resistant for 180 minutes, is recommended
to prevent fire from propagating between one floor and the next.
How can the non-return valves be connected with the Silere pipes?
The inlet can be connected with a simple pipe, for a given diameter.
The outlet can be connected to a socket pipe with an elastomeric
ring seal (according to the diameter).
Can Silere be glued?
No!
Why are special collars recommended for the Silere range?
The Silere collars are lined with a suitable elastomer: this material
absorbs the vibrations transmitted by the pipe to the anchoring
wall, in this way the noise transmitted to the adjacent rooms
is limited.
All Silere pipes are fitted with a socket (except for the 5-metre
long pipes). How is it possible to recover a pipe section without
a socket?
By using the Valsir bi-joint coupling (art. 229).
If a Silere pipe develops a hole how can it be repaired?
By using the Valsir sliding coupling (art. 228).
