Characteristics of the Valsir PP pipe sockets
Connection of the polypropylene pipes and fittings is by push-fit sockets equipped with a special seal that ensures the fittings are water-tight. The double-lipped elastomer seals with support ring are factory-fitted in a groove inside the connection socket. The double-lipped seal ensures the connection remains water-tight even if the pipe has been squashed and is not straight; with this type of seal it is also possible to install the pipe with a slight gradient. The seals are made of materials that are capable of guaranteeing greater functionality and safety as well as an operating life equal to that of the pipes and fittings. Furthermore, in terms of dimensions, requirements, methods and control frequency, they meet the German Standard DIN 4060 “Elastomer seals for pipe joints in drains and sewers”. The production of the double-lipped seals, single-lipped, OR, and special articles is in possession of the German quality mark PA-I (D). The polypropylene pipes produced in the following lengths 150, 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 mm are supplied with just one socket. Valsir also produces pipes with two sockets (with the exception of De 90 and De 160) starting from a length of 500 mm to avoid material wastage and pipes without sockets in the a 5000 mm length per diameter as far as De 125.
